Rema makes history, enters Guinness World Record with ‘Calm Down’

Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name Rema, is a Nigerian afrobeats musician who has entered the Guinness World Records for the first time.

The accomplishment was accomplished by the musician from Benin, whose worldwide hit song “Calm Down” made history as the first No. 1 Hit on The Official MENA Chart (the first regional streaming chart in the history of the world).

Rema’s incredible achievement was recognized by Guinness World Records in a recent statement posted on its website.

It was announced that Rema was being honored for scoring the first number-one hit on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s first-ever official streaming chart and first-ever chart.

This feat now sees Rema join the likes of Femi Kuti, Wizkid and other Nigerian musicians with Guinness World Records.
